Then I tried converting the game into a.pkg PSP remaster (it converted just fine) and installing the game using the package manager. It returns me to the XMB right after booting. I use this method for ripping my own UMDs all the time for use on my PSPGO with custom-firmware. Depending on the nature of the patch, it may be something that you just place in a folder in your PSP library, or it might require you to extract the contents of the UMD using another program and actually patching or replacing the files from there. The whole process probably takes around 10 mins and is very easy. Simply copy that file to your desktop, rename it as necessary and copy that to the ISO folder of your PSP library to play it on a PSP that has custom firmware installed. The next time you connect it to your computer, instead of a folder for you to browse the library of your PSP that would appear normally, you should see that the UMD volume itself is presented. Then, using the VSH menu, (usually enabled by pressing the select button) you can change your USB mode to "UMD". In order to rip the UMD you will need a UMD loading PSP-1000, 2000, or 3000 with custom firmware installed. ![]()
